ABOUT US
Lancet Laboratories Uganda is the leading provider of private diagnostic pathology services in Uganda. Incorporated and registered in Uganda since April 2009.
Lancet laboratories Uganda Ltd is part of the Lancet laboratories East Africa Group and has quality programs that have been approved by the group level in Kenya, South Africa, and Europe.
We participate in external quality assurance (EQA) programs with a body called Thistle and NHLS (National Health Laboratory Services SA) in which we have all our departments covered: Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology, Coagulation, Microbiology and Flow Cytometry.
These programs help us assess the accuracy of our results as compared to very many other labs around Africa.
We also have internal quality control which is run daily to assess the precision of our results, and this covers all the departments and all the branches do participate in this program.
For some tests that are not covered by the EQA, the Inter-Laboratory Quality Assurance program (ILQA) covers that in which we refer our samples to other laboratories that have been accredited by international organisations and compare the results.
All our processes are audited from the sample collection to the time the results are sent out and this gives us a "check-in" to all our processes. Our Lab Information System (LIS) runs in unity real-time in which our Pathologists all around Africa can monitor the progress and advise accordingly and this boosts our quality systems.
Our staff are often given the opportunity to go for extensive training in Kenya and South Africa to remain updated regarding new practices, new technologies and information on the latest research.
ISO ACCREDITATION
To deliver consistent quality at every level of our business, Lancet Laboratories' Quality Assurance team works hard to achieve and maintain SANAS accreditation throughout its structure, adhering to the highest international criteria set out according to ISO Standard 15189.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
We are offering a wide range of safe and accessible payment options. We are making payment process simple, convenient, and secure for any patient.
Cash
Cash payment is acceptable across all our branches. Any patient can request for a test of their choice without necessarily providing a request form from a doctor.
Mobile Payment
Available across all our branches. You can pay with your phone quickly, easily, and safely. Mobile payments with Airtel and MTN provide cashless transactions which are more reliable.
Insurance
We accept insurance coverage after a patient has visited a doctor under insurance and can present us with a request form with underlying diagnosis. We will contact your health insurance company to obtain a pre-authorization number. We must obtain permission from your health insurance company and will contact you back before receiving any health care services at one of our laboratories.
