Global Cleaning Challenge Tanzania

As part of the Global Cleaning Challenge, Cerba Lancet Tanzania had the opportunity to give back to the community by joining students and teachers at a secondary school located near our Main Office in Mbezi Beach, Dar es Salaam (Daniel Chongolo Secondary School).

The activity brought together approximately 60 students, teachers, and representatives from Cerba Lancet Tanzania, including our Country General Manager, Dr. Doreen Gilbert, and East Africa Chief of Finance , George Kabue.

During the activity, our team worked together with the students and teachers to clean the school environment, with particular attention given to a blocked drainage/sewage system that had been heavily affected by accumulated rubbish. Through this joint effort, the blockage was cleared and the surrounding area was cleaned, contributing to a safer, cleaner, and healthier school environment.

Community Impact

The activity provided an opportunity for Cerba Lancet Tanzania to actively contribute to the well being of the surrounding community while promoting the importance of environmental cleanliness.Keeping drainage systems free from rubbish is especially important during periods of heavy rainfall, as blocked drainage can contribute to stagnant water, flooding, poor sanitation, and unhealthy surroundings. By clearing the blocked drainage system, our team and the students contributed to making the school environment cleaner and better prepared for periods of heavy rainfall.

We also had the opportunity to introduce Cerba Lancet Tanzania to the students and teachers and educate them on the importance of maintaining a clean environment, proper waste disposal, and taking collective responsibility for the cleanliness of their school and community.

As part of our contribution, Cerba Lancet Tanzania donated cleaning materials and equipment to support the school in maintaining the cleanliness of its environment beyond the activity day.

The initiative demonstrated the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and our commitment to creating a positive impact in the communities we serve. It was also a valuable opportunity to engage with the younger generation and encourage them to become ambassadors for cleanliness, proper waste management, and environmental responsibility.
