Cerba Lancet Tanzania reaches 200 residents in WazoHill, Tegeta, Dar es Salaam with free NCD screening and health consultations

For many people, taking time to check their health can easily be pushed aside until something feels wrong. Community outreach programmes provide an opportunity to change that by bringing basic health checks and professional advice closer to where people live and work.

In Wazo Tegeta, Dar es Salaam, Cerba Lancet Tanzania recently held a community health outreach for residents living around the cement manufacturing area. Two hundred community members received free health screening and medical consultations focused on non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The outreach gave residents an opportunity to have important health checks, speak directly with healthcare professionals and receive advice based on their individual health needs. It also created space for conversations around NCDs, their risk factors and the importance of finding potential health concerns early.

For Cerba Lancet Tanzania, the value of an initiative like this goes beyond the number of people screened. It is about making preventive healthcare easier to access and encouraging people to take an active interest in their health before illness becomes a serious problem.

Sometimes, bringing healthcare closer is the first step towards helping people take better care of their health.
