Cerba Lancet Tanzania brings free non-communicable disease screening to 150 residents in Kimara

Good health is often taken for granted until a health problem begins to affect everyday life. For many non-communicable diseases, however, there may be few or no obvious symptoms in the early stages. Regular health checks can therefore play an important role in identifying potential risks before they become more serious.

With this in mind, Cerba Lancet Tanzania organised a free community health screening camp in Kimara, Dar es Salaam, giving 150 Tanzanians the opportunity to access screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at no cost.

The initiative was designed to make basic preventive health services more accessible while encouraging people to pay greater attention to their health. For those who took part, the camp provided an opportunity to get checked, understand their health status and receive guidance on steps they can take to protect their health.

NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension and other chronic conditions continue to affect communities across Tanzania. Early detection can make an important difference, allowing individuals to seek appropriate medical advice and take action before a condition progresses.

The Kimara screening camp was one small step towards that goal — bringing health checks closer to the community and giving people the opportunity to take a proactive approach to their health.
