January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

• Cervical cancer is the most common cancer among women in Uganda and the leading cause of female cancer deaths.
• Every year, an estimated 6,959 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer, and around 4,607 women die from it.
• Cervical cancer ranks first among all cancers in Ugandan women, and also first among women aged 15–44.
