Are you an experienced IT professional looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic organization?
Join our team as a Senior Development Team Lead and play a crucial role in guiding the development and maintenance of IT solutions that drive business operations across the African continent. Collaborate with stakeholders, lead a talented team, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software applications that enhance efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.This position will be based at the Head Office - Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Compliance:

    • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, ISO, and HR regulations.
    • Lead and develop the development team across multiple countries, providing direction, training, and performance management.
    • Enforce development policies and best practices, conduct system audits, and ensure network security.

2. Strategic and Technical Expertise:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Partner with stakeholders to develop and improve systems.
    • Manage the development budget, review annual expenditures.
    • Oversee major development projects, including system updates, migrations, and new deployments.

3. Software Development and Project Management:

    • Develop applications using languages such as Java, Python, .NET, and frameworks like Kubernetes, WSO2, and Azure DevOps.
    • Ensure software reliability through rigorous testing and user acceptance feedback.
    • Create technical documentation and provide user training and support.

Technical Competencies

    • Data analysis, strategic formulation, leading and supervising,effective communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Independent working, task prioritization, advanced communication, conflict management, cultural adaptability, confidentiality, integrity, and continuous learning.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines.
    • Ability to work with diverse cultures.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 5-10 years in application development and management
    • Proven experience in leading large IT projects and deploying infrastructures.
    • Strong knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, and phone systems.
    • Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
    • Experience in the healthcare industry, especially in the lab industry, is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with database design, SQL, and software development methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
    • Experience in Africa is advantageous.
    • Willingness to travel within Africa.
