About the position

The Quality Assurance Intern will be based in CLA Head Quarters, Johannesburg, South Africa and will learn how the organization's documents meet certain standards of quality, reliability and effectiveness.

Internal: The post holder interacts with Cerba Lancet Africa Quality Assurance Team, PRE-Analytical Team, Analytical Team, Post Analytical Team and Support service departments.

External:
The post holder assists with tracking records for Accreditation, SANAS, SADCAS, KENAS, NINAS, JCI and Cerba Research audits in the absence of the Group Quality Assurance manager.

General Description

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance
  • Comply with the Cerba Lancet Africa’s Ethical conduct, policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Health, Safety and Environmental procedures. 
  • Drive the Cerba Lancet Africa values.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements including ISO requirements, audits, finance, and accounting management requirements.
2. Scope of Work

a. The Quality Assurance Intern will learn the following:

  • Quality and Standard Operating Procedures.  
  • Adherence to Cerba Lancet Africa's quality policy, procedures and standards.
b. Document Control
  • Control of Cerba Lancet Africa documents
  • Retention of Cerba Lancet Africa documents
  • Disposal of Cerba Lancet Africa documents
c. Internal Audit Records
  • Tracking audit records to ensure completion within stipulated timeframe.
d. Meeting Records
  • Management of the meeting minutes.
  • Consolidate reports for the QA Annual Management Review Meeting (MRM)
e. Professional Development
  • Participation - E-learning activities
  • Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)- preanalytical
f. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Group QA Manager and Group Lab efficiency manager.
  • Adhere to the Health, Safety and Environmental procedures. 
  • Drive the Cerba Lancet Africa values.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements including ISO requirements, audits, finance, and accounting management requirements.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Senior Certificate/ Matric
  • Excellent computer literacy including MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Must be available to travel within the African continent and work with diverse cultures.

  • Documentation Skills: Proficient in writing and reporting.
  • Good Laboratory Practice: In-depth knowledge of best practices in laboratory settings.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks.
