About the position

This position will be based at the Head Office – Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

Key Competency Requirements

  • BSC Medical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Laboratory Technology/Biomedical Technology.
  • 3-5 years working experience in a Medical Laboratory environment.
  • Relevant Health Professions Council registration.
  • Quality Assurance course certificate (ISO 15189/ISO 9001)
  • Must be computer literate (Office 356)

Key job Responsibilities

Adhere to professional ethical conduct requirements in line with organisational policy and relevant professional body ethical standards. Functional knowledge of medical laboratory procedures.

Implementation & evaluation of ISO 15189: 2012/2022 and ISO 9001: 2015.

Implementation of Quality Assurance SLA and quality standards in accordance with the principles of Good Laboratory Practice and ISO accreditation requirements.

Ensuring that processes established for the quality management system are implemented and maintained.

Internal audits: Performs QA Internal audits for the main Facilities within Cerba Lancet Africa entities as planned and delegated by the Group Quality Assurance Manager.

External audits: The post holder is responsible for monitoring the submission date & submitting records for clearance of non-conformance/s raised from the following audits: SANAS, SADCAS, KENAS, NINAS and Clinical Research Vendor audits.

Document Management System - Responsible and authorised to perform document control process for documents that are already preliminary approved on email.

QA Annual Management Review Meeting (MRM) - consolidate the reports for Cerba Lancet Africa footprints and submit for MRM planning.

Monitoring the continuing professional development (CPD) platform and activities to ensure that laboratory staff continuously comply with professional registration requirements.

Assist with the approval of validation/verification of new equipment and methods to ensure standardisation and continuous technological advancement in the absence of Lab efficiency manager.

Ensuring proper retention of records for Quality Assurance department. Maintaining controls to ensure systematic and easily retrievable records of Cerba Lancet Africa.

Where required, perform Quality Assurance training within Cerba Lancet Africa entities. Must be willing to travel to Cerba Lancet Africa entities.

Perform any other duties as defined by Management.
